Focus and Scope

REDUPLIKASI: Jurnal Penelitian Pendidikan Bahasa Indonesia (e-ISSN 2777-1318) is an open-access, peer-reviewed journal published twice a year (June and December) by the Master's Program in Indonesian Language Education, Graduate School, Universitas Negeri Gorontalo. It publishes original research and scholarly studies on linguistics, literature, and the teaching of Indonesian language and literature.

Scope:

  • Linguistics: phonology, morphology, syntax, discourse analysis, psycholinguistics, sociolinguistics, and critical discourse analysis.
  • Literature: studies of local literature, Indonesian literature, foreign literature, children's literature, literary studies for character education, and other literary studies.
  • Teaching of Indonesian language and literature: methods, teaching materials, media, curriculum development, assessment, use of information and communication technology, language skills, and other analyses of learning.

Manuscripts are written in Indonesian or English. Manuscripts outside this focus and scope are returned or rejected at the initial screening stage.

Peer Review Process

Every manuscript that passes the initial screening undergoes double-blind peer review by at least two reviewers who are experts in the field and come from different institutions. The entire process, from submission, review, and decision to publication, is carried out and recorded in the OJS system. A full description is available in Peer Review Process.

 

Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.

 

Archiving

This journal utilizes the LOCKSS system to create a distributed archiving system among participating libraries and permits those libraries to create permanent archives of the journal for purposes of preservation and restoration. More...

 

Copyright Notice

Authors retain copyright to their work and grant REDUPLIKASI the right of first publication, together with consent to transfer publishing rights to the publisher (Graduate School, Universitas Negeri Gorontalo). Articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International (CC BY-SA 4.0) license: anyone is free to read, download, share, and adapt the article provided that the original source and authors are credited and adaptations are shared under the same license.

By submitting a manuscript, authors declare that the manuscript is original, has not been published before, is not under consideration by another journal, and does not infringe the rights of any party. Authors are responsible for obtaining permission to use material they do not own (images, tables, instruments, or long quotations).

 

Publication Ethics

REDUPLIKASI upholds scholarly publication ethics and refers to the COPE Core Practices and the scholarly publication ethics guidelines applicable in Indonesia. These provisions bind authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher.

Author obligations

  • The manuscript is original, has not been published before, is not submitted to another journal at the same time (no duplicate submission), and contains no plagiarism, fabrication, or falsification of data.
  • All persons listed as authors have made a real contribution and approved the manuscript; there is no name misappropriation and no ghost authorship (ghost authorship). Changes to the author list after submission must be approved in writing by all authors.
  • All sources are cited correctly; references must be real and traceable. Fictitious references, including those generated by AI tools, are categorized as ethical violations.
  • Research involving human participants or animals states ethical clearance or permission and informed consent, and explains how the data can be accessed.
  • Every article includes Declarations: author contributions, funding, conflicts of interest, use of AI, and ethics and data availability.
  • Authors must report errors found after publication so that they can be corrected.

Editor obligations

  • Assess manuscripts based on quality and fit with the journal's scope, without discrimination by race, religion, gender, nationality, or the author's affiliation.
  • Maintain the confidentiality of manuscripts and of reviewer identities; do not use manuscript content for personal purposes.
  • Withdraw from handling a manuscript when there is a conflict of interest, and hand it over to another editor.
  • Ensure that every manuscript is peer reviewed and that decisions are based on review outcomes, and document the process in OJS.

Reviewer obligations

  • Review objectively, substantively, and on time; maintain the confidentiality of the manuscript; disclose conflicts of interest; and report suspected ethical violations to the editor.

Use of artificial intelligence (AI)

  • AI tools cannot be authors and cannot be held responsible for the content of a manuscript.
  • Authors who use AI tools (for example, for language editing or translation) must state the name of the tool and the purpose of its use in the AI-use declaration. Authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy of the content, data, and references.
  • Generating or manipulating data, images, and references with AI is prohibited.
  • Editors and reviewers do not upload manuscripts to generative AI tools because this violates confidentiality.

Handling of violations, corrections, and complaints

  • Suspected ethical violations are examined by the editor and the editorial board; authors are given an opportunity to respond. A manuscript proven to violate ethics is rejected.
  • Errors in published articles are corrected through an erratum or corrigendum; articles with serious violations (plagiarism, data fabrication, duplicate submission) are retracted (retraction) with an official notice.
  • Complaints are submitted to the editor through the journal email (reduplikasijournal@gmail.com) and answered in writing.

 

Peer Review Process

REDUPLIKASI applies double-blind peer review: the identities of authors and reviewers are kept confidential from each other. The entire manuscript workflow is managed in OJS.

  1. Submission. Authors register and submit manuscripts through OJS, following the journal template.
  2. Initial screening by the editor. The editor checks fit with the focus and scope, compliance with the template and author guidelines, novelty, and textual similarity (see Plagiarism Policy). Manuscripts that do not meet the requirements are returned or rejected without further review.
  3. Review by reviewers. The editor assigns at least two reviewers who match the field and come from different institutions. Reviewers provide substantive comments and a recommendation (accept, minor revision, major revision, or reject). Review time is approximately four weeks.
  4. Editor's decision. The editor decides based on the review results and communicates the decision to the author through OJS together with the anonymized reviewer comments.
  5. Revision. Authors revise the manuscript and upload the revised version together with a table of responses to each comment. The manuscript may be re-reviewed by the same reviewers or by the editor.
  6. Editing and publication. Accepted manuscripts undergo substantive and language editing, layout, and a final check by the author before being published and assigned a DOI.

Reviewers are distinct from the editorial board. Reviewers are selected based on expertise and institutional diversity, and their involvement is recorded in OJS. Authors may not suggest or contact reviewers directly. The final decision rests with the editor, and all complaints may be submitted in accordance with the provisions in Publication Ethics.

 

Author Guidelines

Manuscripts are prepared using the official journal template (REDUPLIKASI Article Template) and submitted through OJS. Manuscripts that do not follow the template are returned before review.

Article types and language

Research articles (primary) and review or scholarly-study articles that make an original contribution by the author. Manuscripts are written in Indonesian or English. Manuscripts in Indonesian must include the title, abstract, and keywords in English.

Format

  • A4 paper (21 x 29.7 cm), 2.5 cm margins, Century Schoolbook font, single spacing.
  • Title: maximum 15 words, 16 pt, concise and informative.
  • Authors and affiliations: full names without academic titles, surnames not abbreviated; affiliations written in full (department/study program, faculty, institution, city, country); indicate the corresponding author, email, and ORCID.
  • Abstract: 150-250 words, one paragraph, stating the problem/objective, method, main results, and conclusion or contribution, without citations; in English (required) and Indonesian.
  • Keywords: 3-5 standard words or phrases, separated by commas.
  • Structure: Introduction, Method, Results and Discussion, Conclusions, Acknowledgements, Declarations, and References.
  • Introduction presents directly related recent studies (preferably from the last 10 years), the research gap, novelty and contribution, and ends with the research objective or question.
  • Tables and figures: numbered consecutively; table captions above tables and figure captions below figures; avoid vertical lines in tables; figure resolution 300 dpi.
  • Declarations: author contributions, funding, conflicts of interest, use of AI, and ethics and data availability.

References

  • APA 7th edition style, managed with a reference manager (Mendeley, Zotero, or EndNote).
  • At least 15 references; at least 80% primary sources (journal articles, proceedings, theses/dissertations, research reports) and 80% published within the last 10 years.
  • Include the DOI where available; only sources cited in the text are included, listed alphabetically. Avoid secondary citations and excessive self-citation.

Submission

Manuscripts are submitted in .doc/.docx format through OJS. Authors include a statement of originality and, where relevant, proof of ethical approval. The review process is described in Peer Review Process and ethics in Publication Ethics.

 

Plagiarism Policy

REDUPLIKASI does not tolerate plagiarism in any form, that is, taking another person's ideas, words, data, or work without acknowledging the source, including republishing one's own work without disclosure (self-plagiarism) and quoting verbatim without quotation marks and a source.

  • Every manuscript is checked for textual similarity using similarity-detection software during initial screening. Manuscripts with high or unusual similarity are returned to the author or rejected.
  • Editors and reviewers also verify the validity of references; fictitious or untraceable references are treated as a violation.
  • Suspected plagiarism in a manuscript under process or already published is clarified with the author. If proven, the manuscript is rejected, or the published article is corrected (erratum/corrigendum) or retracted (retraction), and the author's institution may be notified.
  • Authors declare the originality of their work at the time of submission.

 

Author Fees

REDUPLIKASI charges no fees for submission, review, or publication (no submission fee, no article processing charge/APC). The journal is funded by the publisher. Decisions on acceptance are based solely on quality and the outcome of peer review.
