Louw Djing Tie, Kungfu Master and Sinshe Biography Illustration in Java

Abstract

This research paper provides an educational exploration of the biography of Louw Djing Tie, a kung fu warrior who journeyed from China and settled in Parakan until the end of his life. He played a significant role in introducing kung fu to Indonesia, and this story also serves as an effort to preserve Chinese culture in Indonesia. Additionally, his exemplary life can serve as inspiration for the younger generation in the present era. The research methodology employed in this study involves data collection through literature review, interviews with descendants of Louw Djing Tie, and Toni Masdiono, a comic artist. A questionnaire was distributed to 101 respondents, targeting teenagers aged 17 to 22 years. The research findings serve as a valuable educational resource for the current generation of teenagers, particularly those who have an interest in martial arts, heroism, and kung fu narratives. The aim of this study is to raise awareness about the inspiring story of Louw Djing Tie, emphasizing the values of perseverance, resilience, and selfless assistance to those in need.
