PENGARUH PENDEKATAN PEMBELAJARAN SETS (SCIENCE, ENVIRONMENT, TECHNOLOGY, AND SOCIETY) TERHADAP HASIL BELAJAR KIMIA KOLOID

Abstract


The research aimed at testing the influence of SETS (Science, Environment, Technology, and Society) learning approach toward student’s learning achievement on chemical colloid subject at class XI IPA of SMA Negeri 1 Kwandang in 2013/2014 academic year. The method of research was quantitative research with true-experiment design. The research was a posttest only control design and pretest control group design. The independent variable was SETS approach and the dependent variable was student’s learning achievement of chemical colloid topic. The population of research were all students of class XI IPA. The technique of sampling was probability sampling by taking samples in group. The instrument of research was multiple choices test consisted of 20 questions and essay test consisted of 10 questions. The data analysis was using inferential analysis with the test criteria of hypothesis stated that H0 is accepted if tcount ≤ ttable or H0 is rejected if tcount ≥ ttable. The research result showed that there was significant influence of the application of SETS (Science, Environment, Technology, and Society) learning approach toward student’s learning achievement. Meanwhile, the analysis result of t test gained the value of tcount = 6,521 and ttable = 2,000 where 6,521 > 2,000, thus H0 was out of the acceptance area or Ha was accepted.
